Fox Cities Regional Partnership hosts tour to connect computer science, IT and engineering university students with local employers

Three-day Talent Upload to provide tour, networking and learning opportunities for 76 students

Appleton, Wis. – The Fox Cities Regional Partnership is hosting a Talent Upload Fox Cities tour, an innovative, all-expense-paid employer exploration opportunity for 76 students from 15 universities throughout the Midwest beginning Thursday, April 16 and continuing through Saturday, April 18, 2015. The tour is a direct result of the Regional Partnership’s Existing Industry Retention/Expansion program, which seeks to provide assistance to the area’s primary employers. “We repeatedly hear from employers that they have significant difficulty in filling open positions—particularly in IT and engineering,” said the Regional Partnership’s Vice President of Existing Industry Services, Manny Vasquez. “The Talent Upload program represents one small step in an overall effort to narrow the skills gap regionally.”

The Talent Upload tour will connect college students with Fox Cities employers seeking support to recruit talent for entry-level positions and internships. This three-day immersive event will provide students with first-hand knowledge of opportunities in the Fox Cities and include a career expo at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel, on-site company tours, networking opportunities and a tech panel discussion.

“The Talent Upload tour is an opportunity for local employers to interact with students from across the Midwest and demonstrate the endless career opportunities the Fox Cities has to offer,” said Beth Pritzl, the Regional Partnership’s vice president of research and technology. “By focusing on high-tech, high-demand positions, our goal is to help our area companies show students that there are bright futures waiting for them in the Fox Cities job market.”

Participating employers are covering the cost for students’ travel expenses, including hotel accommodations, transportation and food, etc. For more information, including registration details, a complete list of universities and employers participating, and a daily agenda, visit www.foxcitiesregionalpartnership.com/talentupload. Students with questions or businesses looking to participate in the next Talent Upload event may contact Beth Pritzl at beth@FoxCitiesRegionalPartnership.com / 920.831.4905.
