BURKHARDT TO PARTICIPATE AS MEMBER OF IEDC ASSESSMENT TEAM

Fox Cities Regional Partnership Executive Vice President, Larry Burkhardt, has been approached by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) to serve on a three-person team to provide technical assistance to the Johnson City, Tennessee, metropolitan statistical area (Washington, Carter and Unicoi counties). IEDC has been retained by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) for the purpose of examining the region’s existing economic development efforts, capacity and potential, and providing actionable recommendations to strengthen them.

Additional members of the team include Joy Wilkins, Atlanta-based economic development consultant and IEDC Board member; and Mark Barbash, Executive Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Finance Fund, based in Columbus, Ohio.

The advisory team will visit with business and community leadership during a three-day visit to Johnson City, Tennessee later this month, and make recommendations to the organization based on background information and their findings.
